YOUNG HEARTS, BIG FUTURES

HELP US GROW THE CREATIVE FUTURES OF YOUNG PEOPLE

ASSEMBLY 197 wants to transform the way that young Tasmanians see themselves, their place in the world, and their future. But we can’t do it without you.

Research shows that creativity builds resilient, connected communities. Our youth programs empower young people to explore identity, well-being, and place through creative expression. We want to expand the reach and impact of these programs and ensure that young people across Tasmania have the opportunity to express themselves creatively and build confidence and resilience, while we nurture the next generation of Tasmanian artists.

Investing in young people shapes our collective future and will benefit us all.

THE ASK

Your donation could pay for the following activity and directly impact the life of a young Tasmanian this year. Every dollar you give will be matched by Creative Australia’s Plus1 program, doubling the impact of your donation.

  • $20 — Costumes for an Artery Program

  • $50 — Learning resources

  • $100 — A teacher for a  one-hour dance class for a Grade 3 class in a rural school

  • $200 — Creative materials for workshops

  • $1,000 — sending a young Tasmanian artist to the SITUATE Lab to collaborate with professional artists to make new work.

Your support will directly power two vital initiatives.

SITUATE develops bold, experimental and deeply relational work by regionally based emerging and mid-career artists across all disciplines. For the first time, the 2026–2027 program places children and young people at the centre of the creative process, inviting artists to make work with, by and for young people.

Tasdance’s ARTERY is more than a dance education program. ARTERY brings creative movement and arts experiences to communities across Tasmania, delivering bespoke programs that empower young people through healthy approaches to movement and artistic expression.

These programs will deliver exceptional, targeted impact for young people across Tasmania in 2026 and beyond. But we can’t fully realise them without your support.
