YOUNG HEARTS, BIG FUTURES
HELP US GROW THE CREATIVE FUTURES OF YOUNG PEOPLE
ASSEMBLY 197 wants to transform the way that young Tasmanians see themselves, their place in the world, and their future. But we can’t do it without you.
Research shows that creativity builds resilient, connected communities. Our youth programs empower young people to explore identity, wellbeing, and place through creative expression. We want to expand the reach and impact of these programs and ensure that young people all around Tasmania have the opportunity to creatively express themselves and build confidence and resilience, while we nurture the next generation of Tasmanian artists.
Investing in young people shapes our collective future, and will benefit us all. Your support will go towards the following key programs:
SITUATE is dedicated to developing bold, experimental and deeply relational work by regionally based emerging and mid-career artists from all disciplines. For the first time, the 2026-2027 iteration of the program places children and young people at the centre of the creative journey. SITUATE will ask artists to investigate what it means to make work for and with young audiences. What might it look like to co-create with care, to design with agency in mind, and to build creative processes where children and young people contribute as collaborators, performers and leaders?
Tasdance’s ARTERY is more than a dance education program. ARTERY believes everyone should be able to experience art-making by delivering bespoke programs designed to reach every corner and every community of Tasmania. Alongside exploring the making and performing of dance, students are given the opportunity to develop self-belief, confidence, creative expression, and potential pathways to an exciting career in the arts. Each tailor-made program shares insight into the practice of dance while empowering young people through healthy approaches to movement.
These programs will deliver exceptional and targeted impact to young people across Tasmania in 2026 and beyond. But we can’t fully realise them without your support.
